A family is mourning the heartbreaking and sudden loss of their 2-year-old daughter after she unexpectedly stopped breathing during what began as a normal family outing on Saturday.
According to her mother, the family was at a restaurant when the toddler became upset. Around 1:10 p.m., her mother stepped outside with her to comfort her. Moments later, they noticed her breathing had changed and immediately contacted her pediatrician.
They were advised to seek emergency care immediately and called 911.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and rushed the child to a nearby hospital, where medical staff fought to save her life.
Despite all efforts, the little girl was pronounced dead at 2:28 p.m.
The cause of death remains unknown.
The child’s mother, who is 28 weeks pregnant with a baby boy, says she held her daughter for hours after her passing while feeling her unborn son move.
“In one of the hardest moments imaginable, I was holding my daughter while feeling her little brother kicking,” she shared.
Doctors have reportedly found no visible injury or blockage, and the family is still awaiting answers.
The family returned home that night carrying only their daughter’s belongings, including her toys and empty car seat.
Now, just days later, her mother says she spends sleepless nights sitting in her daughter’s room, holding her blanket and trying to process the unimaginable loss.
“She will always be my baby girl. I will love her forever.”
