A police manhunt was underway Friday for a 53-year-old Bloomfield Hills man suspected of fatally shooting his ex-wife in the basement of Henry Ford Hospital on W. Grand Blvd. earlier that morning. No one else was injured, but the hospital was placed on lockdown for a period of time.

Detroit Deputy Police Chief Charles Fitzgerald told WXYZ in a video interview that the ex-wife had obtained a personal protection order a month ago, but it was never served on the ex-husband, Mario Green.

The Detroit News reports:

Green was released from probation June 12 after serving three years for failing to pay child support, according to online court records. He pleaded guilty to aggravated stalking in 2001 and was released from probation in 2005 after violating the terms of his probation three times.

In 2006, Green was convicted of arson, and he spent six years in prison before his 2012 release.

The shooting occurred around 9:55 a.m.

Green fled the hospital in a white 2011 Dodge Charger.
